Knights was established in 1994, initially concentrating on litigation relating to the countryside and country sports. Since then, we have maintained our litigation focus, but have broadened the legal areas in which we act for clients both contentious and non-contentious.

Our clients range from private individuals to public bodies, and include commercial sector and not-for-profit organisations.

Our civil practice encompasses public and private law disputes, not only before the High Court, county courts and appellate courts, but also before a number of tribunals. These include employment tribunals, the Lands Tribunal, the Agricultural Land Tribunal, and the Adjudicator for HM Land Registry. We represent clients at inquiries and informal hearings into planning and public access appeals before members of the Planning Inspectorate.

Typically, our clients in criminal litigation are private individuals who have had no previous dealings with the police, let alone the criminal courts. They may be facing allegations of a serious or technical nature. We do not accept instructions on a publicly funded basis and can therefore ensure that each case receives the time and attention that it deserves, in order to achieve the best possible outcome.
