Having attended Exeter University and the College of Law at Guildford, Michael McNally was articled to the London practice Bristows. He became an Assistant Solicitor at Cripps Harries Hall in 1991 on qualification. Michael was a founding partner of Knights Solicitors in 1994.

Michael is Past President of the Tunbridge Wells, Tonbridge & District Law Society. His areas of special interest include the Animals Act 1971, on which he has written for the Agricultural Law Association.

He is married and has two children.

His pastimes include fishing, golf and hunting on foot.
