Tim Ryan attended Queen Mary College, London University and the Inns of Court School of Law, before being called to the Bar (Inner Temple) in 1991. He practised in Chambers at 8 King’s Bench Walk, London, where he specialised in criminal law, representing defendants in courts at all levels including the Court of Appeal.

He joined Knights as a Partner in 2006, where he practises as a solicitor-advocate with Higher Court rights of audience, specialising in criminal and regulatory litigation. He has recently given lectures on the Hunting Act 2004 and Animal Welfare Act 2006 under the auspices of the Agricultural Law Association and Central Law Training.
