Knights celebrate court victory for 'Brent Goose' gamekeeper Nick Parker Print E-mail

Knights Solicitors have secured a welcome victory for Nick Parker, erstwhile head gamekeeper of the Holkham Estate, in Norwich Magistrates Court today. Five charges under the Firearms Act 1968 and the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, including intentionally killing a Brent goose, were dropped after the Prosecution failed to offer sufficient evidence.  Mr Parker had already pleaded guilty to possessing rifle ammunition in excess of that authorised on his firearms certificate.  This case is one of several for which Knights are instructed, which are attracting heightened levels of media attention.  This is largely due to a surge of public interest in the rural practices involved in managing wildlife and increased pressure on the police to make investigating allegations of wildlife crime a priority.
