Contentious
We undertake contentious commercial and corporate work, in particular disputes between partners, directors and shareholders. Our emphasis in such matters is on achieving resolution without litigation or, if litigation is unavoidable, to achieve an early, cost-effective resolution. We also have considerable experience of dealing with directors’ disputes as campaigns in the financial and business press and elsewhere in the media.

We have successfully conducted litigation against HM Revenue & Customs in the High Court and in the Court of Appeal, and have dealt with major competition issues, on two occasions resulting in hearings before the European Commission.

Non-contentious
Our non-contentious corporate work focuses on company formation, in particular companies limited by guarantee as a vehicle for not-for-profit and regulatory bodies, and on corporate governance issues.
