Judicial Review
The main focus of our public law practice is judicial review proceedings in the Administrative Court, often in relation to planning and other matters of land use. We are also familiar with the enforcement regimes under highways and environmental legislation, with routes of appeal to the Administrative Court.

Governance
We advise a number of regulatory and representative bodies on their own constitutional arrangements and, in particular, on public law and Human Rights Act 1998 compliance issues.

Advisory
We keep a watching brief on relevant legislative developments for all our clients. We also provide advice and representation to stakeholders involved in Government consultation exercises and those lobbying for legislative change. We have been instrumental in the drafting of the Protection of Badgers Act 1992, Part V Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994, the secondary legislative schemes under the Animal Welfare Bill, and access and land use provisions in the Natural Environments Rural Communities Bill. Members of the firm have also appeared before Parliamentary Select Committees, most recently the Environment Food & Rural Affairs Committee in relation to the draft Animal Welfare Bill.
